Introducing Amy Napoli! She’s the CEO of the Bellevue Harpeth Chamber of Commerce, lives in the Riverwalk community in Bellevue, and is our MUVFit Client of the Month!

Q: What was your life like before joining the MUVFit Personal Training Program?
Just a regular life! Busy with home and work and raising my daughter. I never exercised at all, other than walking sometimes. I had become very inactive. Also, I pretty much ate whatever I wanted and just kept ignoring the problem. I was in complete denial about how heavy and unhealthy I was.

Q. Why did you decide to join the MUVFit program? 
I got fed up with the way I looked and it was affecting my confidence. I also had to face the realization that I am an older mom with a young daughter, and I wanted to be able to keep up with her, be active and be able to teach her to ski, go hiking, travel, etc. Plus, I’m really vain. 🙂

I had also been through kind of an emotional time and felt like I needed to change my life. I started checking around Facebook for referrals to local personal trainers. I interviewed with one, and I wasn’t impressed with either the location, the person I spoke with or the price (which was astronomical). Someone mentioned MUVFit on Facebook and I made an appointment with Daniel. I felt very comfortable with him from the beginning and the 2 week trial was appealing to me – sort of a try it before you buy it opportunity.

Q. What was your first impression of the MUVFit program? First week, month, etc.
I was very at ease after the first few days. The orientation and FMS testing made me feel like the staff was serious about evaluating us and personalizing a plan that was not cookie-cutter or one size fits all. I also never felt out of place or looked down on because I wasn’t in very good shape. I felt motivated and encouraged by the staff. The atmosphere was welcoming and, although serious, lighthearted. I was also impressed by how each of the trainers worked with me to make sure I got the movements exactly right. They were watching and paying attention.

Q. What have been some of the tools you have learned that have benefited you?
How to make better food choices, how to cut myself some slack and not be so hard on myself, and how to exercise the right way.

Q. How is MUVFit different from other programs you have tried before? What makes MUVFit different or unique?
I have belonged to gyms in the past, and most recently, the YMCA. Everywhere else I’ve been I felt alone, like I had no one to guide me, and nobody ever offered to help me do things the right way. MUVFit is unique because the staff really cares about their clients and their success. You feel like a part of a team that’s dedicated to helping you, rather than being on your own.

Q. Walk us through your journey. What results and benefits have you experienced at MUVFit?
I have lost a total of 35 lbs since starting April 3, 2017. It took my body a while to catch on to what was happening to it. The weight loss hasn’t been rapid, but it has been steady, and according to my last InBody test, it was all body fat. I’ve gained so much strength! My muscles have become much leaner and stronger, and I feel like I’m on my way to being able to do much more than I’ve been able to do before. I’ve consistently been able to increase weights and the number of reps I’m doing for each movement. I feel less winded, and although I haven’t had it checked in awhile, I’m sure my cholesterol and triglycerides have decreased. My energy is much better, and I sleep very well – although sleeping has never been a problem for me.
